Three weeks in Beijing..
It is fitting that I publish the first post exactly three weeks after arriving in Beijing. It is safe to say that these first few weeks have been hectic and intense but luckily they have also been exciting, fun and educating. About 24 hours after I landed at Beijing international airport I was at my new workplace, VanceInfo negotiating the details of the contract with my supervisor. Before that I had already paid the deposit for my apartment, moved in and got a Chinese mobile number. Thanks to an army of AIESECers, a fabulous British flatmate, a Colombian fellow AIESECer newbie, an enthusiastic and tight knit team of colleagues and friends of all of these friends my adaptation period was short and sweet. Apparently they say that culture shock has several phases the first of which is called the honeymoon phase… I have happily settled into this stage and hope to stay there as long as possible!

Who would have thought...
...that I would start a blog? Not so many I am guessing, but hopefully this new development will satisfy some of my family's and friends' curiosity about my life in Beijing. Enjoy! :)
